Design background: Antonio studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London while at the same time working as John Galliano’s assistant. The collection he created in his final year as a student, 1994, created a professional-sized splash, attracting the attention of London buyers, including Liberty and A La Mode. Berardi launched his first professional collection the next season.
Design signatures: “Baroque’n’Roll - being British and of Sicilian parentage I tend to do what I know best. Hard-tailoring, body-conscious and highly decorated, with a traditional twist.”

How would you describe the Antonio Berardi woman? “A woman who is aware of her sexuality, sensuality, and who appreciates the meticulous nature of what I do.”
Trademark piece: “Dresses that fit like a glove, and tailored jackets that don't close but which fit like a glove also.”
Three spring/summer 2012 inspirations: “Tailoring, shadow-work and pressed flowers, and fast cars.”

What’s your favourite cultural hotspot in the capital? “Any place that makes my heart sing!”
