Origin: Seoul, Korea

Design background: Lee spent five years working as a Senior Pattern Cutter in Seoul, Korea and two years at KISA London as Master Pattern Cutter. She studied at Central Saint Martins (MA 2010 womenswear) as well as completing the PG Innovative Pattern Cutting at Central Saint Martins in 2007.

Design signatures: “Chic, minimalist and modernist tailoring.”

How would you describe the J. JS Lee woman? “A modern woman who is concerned with looking sharp in a uniquely feminine way.”

Trademark piece: “Embossed details on solid fabric.”

Three autumn/winter 2012 inspirations: “The shadow, the cloud and the innocence.”

What does 2012 hold for your brand? “I am looking forward to presenting AW12 as a catwalk show.”  

What are your favourite decades in fashion? “The twenties and forties.”

Where do you go in London to seek artistic inspiration? “Mainly the Serpentine Gallery.”
