Spring/summer 2012 inspirations: “We have taken inspiration from the ‘Jet Set’ of the early seventies: the film stars, industrialists and aristocracy whose playground was the French and Italian Riviera. It was a time when details and cut were key and the wardrobe you wore told a story of the places through which you had travelled.”

What’s next for your brand? “We have just launched a new collection called RAKE LOUNGE. This will be shown at our London Fashion Week presentation. Think elegant evening wear that carries you through both informal and formal settings with an insouciant panache.”

Who are your design heroes? “Far too many to list. I have tremendous respect for anyone who puts his or her neck on the line in the pursuit of creativity. If pushed, I’d have to say Halston and Yves Saint Laurent.”

What’s your favourite cultural hotspot in the capital? “Tate Modern.”

In five years’ time we will be… “Probably still stuck in another airport!”
