How would you describe the Jena.Theo woman? “Confident and daring, she loves to wear clothes that show she is unconventional and powerful.”
Trademark piece: “This season it's our soft-structured, geometric winter coat.”
Three spring/summer 2012 inspirations: “Bauhaus, film noir and the darker side of Hollywood elegance in the forties and fifties.”
What’s next for your brand? “We want to develop the JENA.THEO denim line and see where we can take it. We're also very excited about exploring new hand-painting techniques.”
Who are your design heroes? “At the moment we're looking to Sonia Delaunay, Mary McFadden, Ed Ruscha and Yohji Yamamoto.”
What’s your favourite cultural hotspot in the capital? “The whole city is a hotspot. There's something interesting in every corner. An afternoon looking around either the Wellcome Collection or the Horniman Museum is one well spent.”
In five years’ time we will be… “Running our own concept boutique - a collaborative space bringing together elements of art, film, music and fashion.”
