Show Report

RAF SIMONS gave us his signature minimal shapes for spring/summer 2012, as well a few surprises – namely a bright, modern take on plaid. Checked shirts, trenches, T-shirts and sleeveless tops came in vibrant orange, blue, green and purple, creating a look that was coolly controlled – a skill the designer has built up a firm reputation for.

Prints played a key role in this evening’s show – Simons incorporated Hawaiian florals into his new offering – a print also seen at Gaultier and Givenchy. Unlike Gaultier, Simons made them look altogether more formal (something we wouldn’t have imagined was possible), with bright florals woven onto lightweight black knits.
