KRIS VAN ASSCHE revealed his sartorial insides for all to see at today’s Dior Homme show, named Less and More. The masculine version of spring/summer’s underwear as outerwear trend, the collection stripped back tailoring to the linen toiles used to make them - trimming them with leather wherever possible - and used the rings designed to keep buttons in place instead of the buttons themselves. Van Assche’s minimalist aesthetic, often bordering on the austere, was crisp and cool today - and will do nothing to deter his huge female following: in fact, a pair of the collection’s loose-fitting crop trousers, a sleeveless blazer and a crisp Dior Homme T-shirt will be on many girls’ wish lists next summer.
