SPRING/SUMMER 2012 is seen through a Seventies-tinted lens for the Acne fashion house, which showed its second ever menswear show today - concluding Paris Men’s fashion week for another season.
According to the show notes, the theme was “Swedish Seventies functionality”, which was skilfully translated into retro colours with off-beat tonal pairings – one look saw a dark peach single-breasted jacket teamed with a beige jumper, blue-grey shirt and olive green ankle-length trousers – as well as quirky knee-patches and pared-down suede and cotton jackets.
Playing heavily on the functional aspect of the collection’s theme, the clothes were straight-forward and wearable (as one would expect from the Acne label), and offered a practical mix of summer shorts, slim-fit trousers, knitwear and sporty anoraks.
Accessories added an appealing dimension, particularly the bags which ranged from mini clutches to suede duffle bags and – again, functional - across-body styles.
